Trying to Sell Strollers in Kenya?

Don’t bother…this was an article that Patti W. sent me 2 years ago and has been in the pile of things to do for a LONG LONG TIME. And then voila! Rev. Aradia P. sent it to me again just the other day.

An Idea Still Looking for Traction in Kenya

And even though stroller comics are some of the most controversial ones that I do, I’m gearing up for a whole bunch!

So Did Anything Happen While I was Away?

What the Heck! I go without the computer and the ability to make comics for 3 frickin’ days and a major breastfeeding incident happens? I get my computer hooked up and I have 50 people that have sent me e-mails about the nurse-in and the petition … and then the subsequent interview of course, comics will be forthcoming…(I just have to remember where I packed my pens!)

Some thoughts on Birth!

I got two e-mails back to back…one telling me about this guy Natural Childbirth? No Thanks Funny, I don’t remember anyone asking him!

“A little while back, I asked a doctor friend for his take on natural childbirth. He rolled his eyes, as if he’d heard the question once too often.
‘Parents forget how many things can go wrong,” he told me. “Delivering a baby is a major medical procedure. It’s potentially dangerous, and it hurts like hell. Who do you want to be on the receiving end — a trained doctor backed up by modern life-saving machines and painkillers, or some woman with a Guatemalan hat?’”

and this from a mama friend -Ingrid Bauer- who was giving a pep talk to another future mama about unassisted birth…

“women’s bodies were designed to birth. that’s a simple fact. you were designed to birth naturally. no experience or training neccessary. there’s no special esoteric mystery about it. it’s a very simple every day fact of life. millions of women have done it for millions of years. it’s a tremendous blessing but it’s also completely ordinary and normal and not only for a special few. you can do it too. i have absolute trust in that.”

I think the two opinions are perfect side by side.
