She’s 11 and wow, that’s a big number as time marches on here in cowgoddess-ville. We had a birthday that was exactly as she wanted, the beach in the morning with her close friend (Gurumama’s 11 year old son) then a walk to her favorite fish taco restaurant, and then banana splits all around. All in all, a lovely day. And instead of crying myself to sleep I regaled her with the story of her birth, and she only faked non-interest, because she really can’t hear it enough;o)
AND, it’s come to my attention that wow, the Zines, Slings, and Other Do-It-Yourself Things book is selling really slowly. It could of course be our awful economy (what’s your excuse UK and Australia? heehee) But, a friend mentioned that it could be the title! Maybe my dear readers are unsure that the insides of this wonderful book are all that interesting?
so Here’s just a bit about the book:
You might not remember, but a long, long time ago I produced a series of Zines that were mailed quarterly to my dearest fans homes. These zines are reprinted in this book and include:
Habitat- thoughts on cowgoddess cultures and habitats and how to find it and live there too, or at least start the search.
Birth- All about how Heather become a cowgoddess, the true story!
Performance-including my speech Parenting as Performance Art (don’t miss this one ;o) it’s fun!)
A reprint of the article collaboration from the book MAMAPHONIC
Pregnancy Log- a laugh riot!
and Routine- including the Nanny 911 comic series (Hathor wins! sort of)
Then, as if that’s not enough ALL of the comics about Slinging and ALL of the comics about Do-it-Yourself. The MOST comics EVER of any Hathor book. Phew!
Buy it here:
and for those of you that have already read it, how about a book review?
Love,
Heather

Hathor: “You say in this article that “co-sleeping is the practice of sleeping in the same bed, couch or chair with an infant.”"
other unseen person:”yep.”
Hathor: ” I co-sleep and I’ve never heard such an expanded definition…”
other unseen person: “it’s all in the proximity.”
Hathor: “Would you call sharing a roller-coaster car co-sleeping?”
other unseen person: “If they slept during it, yes.”
Hathor: “What about bunjee-jumping is bunjee-jumping with an infant ever ‘co-sleeping’?”
other unseen person:”if they’re snoozing certainly”
Hathor: “So you’ve basically co-opted the word ‘co-sleeping’ to sell some kind of agenda?”
other unseen person: “Well, cribs, um…I mean agendas don’t sell themselves”
Hathor:”I suppose the first one to write the wikipedia entry wins”
co-sleeping is the practice of mothers sleeping beside their infants to facilitate breastfeeding.
