The Daily Mail over here in the UK is a right-winged, illiberal tabloid that masquerades as a "proper newspaper". It is well-known for racism, misogyny, homophobia - and in fact general levels of bigotry - not to mention poor journalism and sensationalist stories. Of particular "interest" are its so-called "Femail" pages which contradict themselves with health-scare style stories almost every day and serve only to make women feel guilty about whatever it is they're doing! (And yet the paper has a high female readership - go figure!) Well, it’s hardly surprising.
