I Saw the Business of Being Born!

http://www.thebusinessofbeingborn.com/

There was a screening of the movie at a local theater at 11:00 am on a Sunday. I left the kiddies with darling super-husband and went ALL BY MYSELF. Silly, I go to the grocery store and other types of shopping by myself sometimes. But, I can’t remember when, if ever, I went to a theater by myself. Quite fun actually. The theater filled to capacity, the movie was VERY good, if it won’t change minds about how and where we birth, I don’t know what will. I was completely convinced that homebirth is the way to go. Of course, I was convinced before, but now even more so ;o) After the movie we were able to ask questions of Ricki Lake (the producer) and Abby Epstein (the director) which was definitely a perk of living in a giant city, and made me feel all star-struck and stuff. Netflix is going to release the DVD on February 26th, so start planning your home viewing/party/gathering now!

this is also a good time to sign up to come to the Trust Birth Conference! in early March. I’ll be there all weekend and already have plans to meet with a mama friend from this lovely cyberworld of ours. If you come to the conference, send me a note and we’ll all go out for eats together!

love,
Heather

My city is having a screening on Feb 10, and I can’t wait to go. I’m a tax preparer, so I’m seeing a lot of people right now, and a couple of my clients are planning too.

Hi. What does your baby eat/drink while you’re away? I’d like to go out but know he only wants to eat breastmilk (from ME)

I had to leave my little girl with her Daddy one day and wasn’t able to pump enough milk… so off to the grocery store for a can of formula to cut it with. I made the mistake of reading the ingredients…. YUCK!

That crazy (smart!) little baby woudn’t touch the half and half bottles I made up. Drank a grand total of 2 ounces in 8 hours and boy, was she glad to see me when I got home! Hexane. Sheesh.

My babies would just wait it out for me to get home, luckily their Papa always kept them well entertained and I never had to be gone for too long!

I guess hexane does sound a bit like a witch. But thats not a bad thing. I took my mom to the museum today, along with my baby and we saw REAL egyptian artifacts, huge statues, small, intricate carvings, etc…

Anyway, I kept seeing the name Hathor! I thought of u

PS I still need help on what my mom can feed the baby while I’m away from him?
