My Birthday was a Blast!
Dear Mama,
I had so much fun, a family sleep-over, special waffle breakfast (I got to wear a crown!) Almost all my gifts were handmade: felted soaps, caramel sauce, bread, and a journal (from Tawaret) and the promise that gurumama will come over this week-ish to help me finish a f&%^$#@! quilt that I’ve been trying to finish for 6 YEARS! And my family gave me a booklight, a thom Hartmann book, a toaster, and a pair of UGGS. yum. I’m hopelessly spoiled and wallowing in it.
My final gift to myself is that I’m going to get my photo taken, because as of today I will never be this young again.

Yay! Glad you had a nice b-day! Hey, was that comic about the Sesame Street video with Buffy Sainte-Claire breastfeeding Cody? I was trying to find it the other day because my dd loves that video, and it had been removed!

Oh guess what! I emailed someone about the buffy breastfeeding on Sesame Street video and he posted it back on his account! Turned out there was an unrelated problem with his account and he had to make a new one. It didn’t have to do with either of the Sesame Street breastfeeding videos.

Here’s something else that will make you smile on your birthday- another Mama who works at my school asked me last year how hard it was to nurse and work. I gave her the lowdown- it’s probably harder than bottlefeeding but SO worth it. And it’s easier the rest of the time! Well, I saw her baby today- he’s seven months old and still nursing away- and he looks great! I said, “Look how big you are! Boobie milk is great, isn’t it?” and he gave me this huge smile like he knew exactly what I was talking about! Another Mama, successfully breastfeeding because of fellow-Mama support.

That YouTube thing is ridiculous isn’t it? Myspace, then Facebook, now YouTube? Grrr!!
I wrote a feature about the Facebook thing a while back, you may find it interesting (although looking back on it now perhaps slightly flawed too).

Happy birthday to a fellow Sagatarius! I will be celebrating my own this Sunday, two days after my little Dori is ‘due’ to be born. What will happen first-will she enter the world or will I turn the big 3-0?…only time will tell.
