The Music of Renee and Jeremy!

This is a lovely album of lullabye-ish songs…I especially LOVE ‘welcome to this world’ (thanks Melissa! it’s playing on her myspace page ;o) and you can go here: Renee’s Myspace profile to download any/all of the songs. I really really wanted Welcome to the World to play on my blog, but I couldn’t figure out how…so go to their page, download the song (come on! it’s only .99!) and play it while you check out my site ;o) Go on, it’ll be fun!

You’re listening to It’s a Big World by Renee & Jeremy

Love,
Heather

Oooh, thanks for sharing!! As soon as Dori is born, I’m going to put her picture and “Welcome to the World” on my MySpace profile!! Kind of my cyber birth announcement…

Very sweet… we had a t-shirt for our little one that said “I’m new here” and had a picture of the earth!
On a separate note, I was recently very disappointed/angry/upset because my best friend from college just informed me that her parents are not “allowing” children at her wedding! Mind, she told me this after I rearranged my whole family’s Thanksgiving plans so I could attend her stinking wedding. So now I can’t go. I told her that my children would not be happy left alone, (3 yrs and 11 months) and that to leave the little baby was not even a remote possibility.

I’m sure I’m not the only mother to go through this… have you written any comics about this, Heather?

chana maya - you stick to your guns about the wedding. i feel so strongly about this - my best friend also banned children from her wedding, and my firstborn was only 4 months old. but not wanting to offend her i actually went - all i can say is i wasn’t in my right mind. i still get furious with myself 5 years on! so, to redress the balance at my wedding 2 years later, there were several small children scooting about, aged from a few weeks old to five years, and a massive fuss was made of them, with elaborate party bags and loads of toys in the garden. my best friend was pregnant then with her first, so i think she started to get it.
weddings are family celebrations aren’t they? therefore ALL the family should be there to join in .

Chana Maya, We were also invited to a wedding of my husband’s best friend. When he told us he was getting married on the phone, we said for sure we’d be there if our son was also invited. Then we got the invitation and no children were being invited. I did not want to pay for airfare and hotel only for us to stay in the room during the wedding and reception. I told my husband to go solo,, which he did. If it were my best friend, I’d tell her that there would be no me without the kids and of course I was coming (with the kiddos!). Spread the love, how can you get married, build a foundation of love and family and not have all the generations represented?!

I do see your point about not wanting to leave your little ones, but I didn’t allow kids at my wedding either (unless they were infants). They actually just weren’t invited to the reception, anyone was more than welcome at the wedding itself. The hall still charged me full price for anyone over the age of one and I just couldn’t afford having a bunch of little ones. Besides, I don’t know if I would want my kids at most of the wedding receptions I’ve gone to. There is usually a lot of smoking and drinking, which then ends up with people acting stupid. I just don’t feel that kids (especially my 6 year old) need to see people acting odd and drinking like it’s the right thing to do.

I downloaded all 12 songs yesterday. I played them all afternoon, my 3 year old son loves them and my 5 year old son even let me dance with him in my arms (sometimes he thinks he is too cool for momma-lovin’). These songs remind me to be the Momma I want to be…calm, peaceful, loving and kind…not distracted, snippy and frustrated. I managed to stay calm and actually peaceful all afternoon yesterday. Heck I even had the house picked up and dinner on the table (with candle light!) by the time my hubby got home. Its amazing what serenity does for you! Thank you so much for sharing!!

    Hi Hathor,
I really like this music, it is very soft and sweet. I wish it didn’t start playing immediately when I open the site, though. I don’t like music on websites unless I can choose whether to turn it on, because sometimes I’m in a place where music isn’t appropriate. The music itself is wonderful :) Thanks!
