lol, I’ve seen that before! My husband sent it to me. I guess if I do get the chance to homeschool, if someone asks me why, I’ll just show them this video and say “THAT’S WHY!!!”

Wow… I teach special ed, and even MY kids could answer those questions!

Education- what you get out of it depends greatly on what you put into it. Whether you’re homeschooled or in a 1500-student public high school, if you don’t pay attention and commit things to “long-term memory”, you’re still not going to know anything.

That’s really funny, and not really surprising. Especially since it was done in Texas. I lived down there for awhile, and well, like I said, not too surprised. Not saying that everyone down there is uneducated, but in my experience, a great deal aren’t. I’d like to think though that people up here in Omaha would do a little better, but still wouldn’t expect much.

Well I was laughing at my home, Australia, as every “enemy” country on his world map. He wasn’t only in Texas - some of that was shot in parts of Los Angeles which I recognized. Jay Leno does the same thing with his Jay Walking segment. A lot of this isn’t about not knowing childhood history or geography education though, it’s about keeping abreast of current events. I suppose the best that we can say is that these folks aren’t reading or listening to anything. Just remember that these folks are voters!

Pfft… “especially since it was done in Texas”? I’m from Texas, and we’re not all uneducated hicks. I can’t speak for everyone, of course, but at least I could answer all those questions!

Now… their (I say their, because while I live here, I didn’t originate from here) blind allegiance to Bush… that needs to be rectified! Blind allegiance to any leader is unwise.

This being said, I am most definitely homeschooling my children. Have you seen the 20/20 bit on Stupid in America? Here’s the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfRUMmTs0ZA

If neither video convinces you, I don’t know what will!

well, my husband’s from texas, and we live in omaha. he agrees that you’ll run into a lot of that in texas, and i say you wouldn’t get much better in omaha. i’ve been here all my life, and it never ceases to amaze me what OPS (Omaha Public Schools) produces every year. i went through OPS, and there’s no way i’m putting my children through that. homeschool all the way!

As a resident Texan and fellow American, I am ashamed at my brethren. Shame, shame, shame on those people… At least one of them stood right in front of the Alamo as he spoke! NO!!!!!!!!

OW! I can’t finish watching this! I had a terrible public education. I have never even cracked open classic literature… but I can answer those questions! Where did they find all these people together?
