Yesterday I was at our state Renaissance Faire. I was not with my parents at the time, but my father related to me that he say a woman whose bodice did not allow her to “cover up” while she was nursing her baby. He told me that at first he was a bit startled(he didn’t stare, just happened to notice her in the area). Then he remembered my talks with him, and telling him our state laws! So he decided to do the best he could not to let it bother him, and let her go and do that thing moms do!

So here’s a HUZZAH! to one man, at least. who knew that it was the mother’s right, even if it made him uncomfortable.

What’s with the woman’s shirt (about halfway through the video) that says, “If my boob offends you then your wife must not have any.”??? Is this an attack on small-breasted women, or on women who’ve had mastectomies, or what? How is this relevant to the issue of public breastfeeding?

Women need to stick together on this and not attack each other with crude, short-sighted comments that dilute the intended message. I’m a 31AA who breastfed two babies for a total of almost 6 years, so I know that size doesn’t matter. Let’s stay out of the mud and stick to the main point, that regardless of size, women should be able to breastfeed any time, anywhere.

I love the video. I wish I had been able to have a baby to feed there.

KMurrr…I don’t think that was the point of the shirt at all. I think it was awkwardly worded, but I would have never interpreted it the way you did if I hadn’t read your response.

I am still breast feeding my 3.75 year old daughter any where she asks for it. We have sat down upon furniture displays in department stores to have some milk, in restaurants, in WalMart ( We live in NH) and various other places through out our travels.
