Baby’s Big Adventure (or why you should always listen to your kids!)
Dear Mamas,
I sent this letter to some friends the other day, and then it inspired a comic, so here you go!
Gwynnie came to me yesterday and asked me to fill her purse with money, which I did, and then told me she was going to go give the money to the neighbors. I said ‘okay’ and went back to working on the health insurance forms, you know filling them out, looking for more information. I don’t know if you’ve seen my filing system but it’s atrocious! and it always seems like there’s things you need to know that you don’t, so I called Kevin to ask him for a number and as the phone is dialing I see Isobel and Fiona. So I walk upstairs and say “gwynnie?” and come downstairs, ask Kevin the question and go into the living room and say “gwynnie?” and then it dawns on me that I can’t find gwynnie and panic ensues! We hang up on Kevin, run outside calling for her, I go back upstairs, we look up and down the street, check the garage, the car, the laundry room. I go back through the house. I tell you I am having a frickin heart attack! We go back out front, then I start looking for my phone to call 911. Finally Fiona yells there she is and there she is walking casually up the street with her purse jauntily swinging. She went to give money to the neighbors! No kidding!
I asked her to show me where she had been and she walks me down the street and at every house is a little pile of change at the end of the walk, down around the corner, every house there, and then up the next street. She crossed an alley road, but told me that she didn’t get to cross the street and do the other side, yet ;o 0 She visited the front doorstep of about 18 houses.
phew!
Always listen to your kids!
Peace,
Heather
Yep. I’m so proud. And terrified ;o)
Love,
Heather

Sometimes, those angels who watch over our children get to be busier than usual…

a kind & compassionate being in your midst. how fortunate you are!
she is older beyond her years, isn’t she? you can probably trust her to look out for herself. this cartoon made me think of my own childhood. i was an only child until i was 17. i became very independent & self-sufficient & was able to look out for myself at a young age. when i asked my mom more recently why she treats my young siblings differently than she treated me, giving me more freedom & priveleges than she does them, she answered, “you were always older.”
did you leave the change?

Wow… sweet and scary! LOL I have had a few of those moments where I am like… wholly cow (LOL) where did they just go?
Ds#3 was following his big bro around the park and then ditched him for the play equipement… and we couldn’t find him for like 5 minutes. I thought I was going to be sick. I was just pulling out the cell phone and he is waving to me from the top of a slide. AGH!
Hugs

That is scary, oh and I think you should also ditch the ads. Yes, as long as you have them on here, they can pay you for clicks but it’s really a big violation of WHO / Unicef’s International Code.
Glad Gwen is ok.
Check outthis awesome new video I made which speaks to the BF oppressors who think they are so superior and righteous…

Spent all day yesterday making it and then noticed a slight boo boo at the very end, oh well. I’ll have to edit it later!! Please spread the word and send it to your bigotic brothers-in-law.

Eeep! Yes, they will wander off like that won;t they?
It reminds me a little of my own childhood. Someone told me about how the world is round and that if you started walking off in one direction, eventually you would end up right where you began. They demonstrated on an orange. I was about four and figured this would take maybe a whole afternoon.
It all ended well, but… errmmm… yeah….

Hi Hathor,
I’m glad to read Gwynnie was found, safe and sound. Whew!
You inspired me with your Story of the Zoops, btw. I just posted a comic strip on my blog about a certain for-profit milk bank company. Go take a look sometime: http://www.breastfeedingsymbol.org/2007/08/26/prolacta-bioscience/.
You are changing the world, Hathor, for the better!
