I've been considering signing my older son up for swimming lessons! I still might but this does make me think.

This also makes me think of baseball - he just finished his season playing on a baseball team and while I think he likes playing baseball he didn't want to go to the games and I understand why. Half the time he's in the outfield standing around and most of the other half, he's in the dugout sitting around waiting to bat. BORING! Organized baseball is not as fun as just PLAYING baseball. (Unfortunately we don't have a lot of kids close by so he doesn't get to just play baseball very often.) I am going to continue to encourage him to be on teams but I also want him to just enjoy playing sports/games and being active.

We experienced an identical swimming learning curve last week on vacation... so great to watch! Next week we'll be sewing and mor of Hugo Cabret (great book and my 5 year old loves telling people he and I are reading such a huge book since he gets to read all of the drawings to me!) I think, but we'll see where summer takes us since the strawberries are almost ripe!

Not to sound like an ad, but if you get time, check me out when I get to be interviewed about my MS, my homebirth, my other two natural births and all sorts of other good mind and body birth stuff for Kerry Tuschoff's HypnoBabies Live! radio show this afternoon! The show actually airs on Friday, June 22nd at 9 AM Pacific Time or on Saturday June 23rd at 1 PM Pacific Time on www.healthylife.net and it will be archived at the same web address for about 2 months, starting a few days after the first air date, so you can hear it anytime. I'm a bit excited, can you tell???

Hathor,

My husband & I are HUGE fans of yours, and now we just love you that much more. You're a Thom Hartmann groupie too?!?! You just absolutely rock in every way. I could gush for paragraphs about your fabulousness! You are THE Cowgoddess. I am simply an aspiring milker (nursing a 2.5 yr old son). How do you keep up with your work, art, 3 kids, & a happy relationship...and still find time for Thom Hartmann?

Anyway, you are an inspiration. If you can do all that you do & still manage to homeschool, then I have more confidence that I can handle homeschooling when the time comes. I can only hope that my son will be totally clueless about pop culture at the age of 10. Nice work & keep it up! Maybe there will be some rational, intelligent adults to run this country in a couple of decades. Thanks for all that you do. I'll try to do my part, too.
