So Did Anything Happen While I was Away?
What the Heck! I go without the computer and the ability to make comics for 3 frickin’ days and a major breastfeeding incident happens? I get my computer hooked up and I have 50 people that have sent me e-mails about the nurse-in and the petition … and then the subsequent interview of course, comics will be forthcoming…(I just have to remember where I packed my pens!)

Shocking isn’t it!?
On some site I was on they had a poll and then comments. The poll seemed pretty in favor of the mom, but the comments! UGLY is hardly the right word. It is shocking how people react. I guess the only people who commented are the fools who though the mom was wrong. Someone even called her a pompous dirtbag! For breastfeeding her baby! And then you always have some idiot who has to say “I am all for breastfeeding BUT…” but what? But don’t actually do it? But stay at home until you stop? But don’t go out in public and nurish your child unless you come with a bottle?
Plus they always throw in that “discrete” thing. Like as long as the mom is discrete, then it is ok. Like when do you see a mom anywhere with her top off and nursing her baby? I would like to trash that comment forever. Be discrete! Whatever!

I got your book (Milk of Hathor) in the mail. Liked the scribbles and stickers on the wrapper! I made myself put the book away rather than reading through the whole thing at once, so who knows when I’ll get back to it! But what I read was good.
I was showing it to my husband and he said, “Oh, it’s a FEMINIST book” in this disgusted tone. I think he says stuff like that just to get me going! Plus he’s not big on “activism” or speaking out on any subject. (In his defense, he takes care of the kids while I’m at work and he supports extended breastfeeding, nursing in public, and co-sleeping. And when I told him one time that some people put their babies in cribs and let them cry, he frowned and said “That’s just mean.” My thought exactly.)
